In general, DO NOTHING at the night before an exam. Let me explain what I mean “DO NOTHING”. It is the night before an exam, and you’ve made enough preparation before(Even if you didn’t, one night can’t change anything.) and you will get more or less nervous when you’re in an examination which is super normal and then you may consume more energy than usual. Hence, you need to have a chill night now.
Then how to make your night chill?
- Go for a healthy and nice dinner
We should eat healthy food at any time, but sometimes we don’t. However, the night before an exam, we need to obey this rule. We need to eat a balanced meal with some carbohydrates for energy, protein for brainpower and a small amount of natural sugars. Do Not consume too much whatever sugar, carbon or water. If you have high amounts of dinner before an exam,we may sleep badly and it will affect our exam.
- Enjoy a movie can make you relaxed
Lots of students are more used to doing a final revision during the last night before the exam. Some researchers found that students who totally relax the night before the exam always have better academic performance. And students who revise a lot the night before an exam may have much more pressure during exams and can’t reach their own expectation of results. Then why don’t you go for a relaxing movie? And noted, I didn’t say Star Wars that make you too excited and can’t go to sleep!
- Check your bag and make sure you bring everything
When you wake up on the day of your exam, you don’t want to have to worry about anything. That’s why it’s a good idea to prepare the night before. This can include packing snacks, preparing breakfast in advance and even laying out your clothes. You can also make sure you have any tools you need in your bag so that when you wake up, you’re ready to go!
*You can use our checklist here
- Set an alarm
What’s the first step to getting a good exam result? Participate in the exam. Then set your alarm the night before and set an extra alarm for a few minutes later so that if you happen to miss the first one, you have an alternate one ready to go off and wake you up.
- Get enough sleep
After all these things you did, it’s your sleep time. Sleeping helps your brain both process and retain information. It will also have you ready to go with energy the next day, so aim to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep before exam day. (If you usually need more than 8 hours of sleep time, then you may need to try to go to sleep 9 hours earlier.)
Good Luck!
